Signe Sannem Lund was born on the 24th of July 1980 and grew up in Moss and Fredrikstad in south-eastern Norway. She started studying music at the Greåker High School of Music in 1996.
After graduating in 1999, she attended a Voice Class at the Barratt Due Music Institute, where she was trained by Tove Alice Rossow, Kjersti Ekeberg and Anne Nyborg.
In 2003 Signe was admitted to the Opera Academy in Oslo.
Signe has performed many solo concerts, and she appeared as a soloist in several oratorios and other church-music concerts during her studies. She sang the part of Bastienne from Mozart’s opera “Bastien und Bastienne” as her examination piece at the Barratt Due Music Institute.
At the Opera Academy she played the parts of Cherubino in «»Le Nozze di Figaro, The Contralto in «The Four Note Opera», Bessie in «Mahagonny Songspiel», and Dorabella in «Cosi fan Tutte». She also took part in smaller projects, with roles such as Hermia, Despina, Rosina and Sesto. In 2006, when she was a trainee at the Norwegian National Opera, Signe sang the part of Rowan in «Let`s Make an Opera».
During her time at the Opera Academy, Signe attended the Vadstena Academy. In summer 2005 she took part in an experimental project for four singers and a baroque orchestra, performed in Vadstena’s old theatre. And in 2006 she sang the part of Kikki in the baroque opera «Tonight Tonight». Vadstena Academy’s Friendship Society gave her a scholarship for her performance.
Signe graduated from the Opera Academy in 2006 and made her debut as Annio in «La Clemenzo di Tito» at the Norwegian Opera. The Norwegian Opera (and their main sponsors) presented her with the “Debutant of the Year” prize for her interpretation of the role of Annio. During this season, she also appeared as Rosina in «Il Barbiere di Siviglia» at the Norwegian Opera, and performed as a soloist with the Norwegian Opera’s Orchestra at the New Year’s Concert in the Oslo Concert Hall. During her first season Signe also sang Harrieth von Öhrn in an Operetta called «It Happened in the Old City» and did her first tour as the Operasinger in the succsessful children show «Opera on the Brain».
Signe has sung Mercedes in «Carmen» for The New Opera , Siebel in «Faust» for Malmö Opera, Nympha in «Orfeo», Annio in «La Clemanza di Tito», Orlofskij in «Die Fledermaus» and Kuchtic in «Rusalka», all at the National Opera in Oslo. Signe has also been a soloist in a number of church musical works and orchestral concerts for example The Messiah and B minor mass with Borg Bachchoir and Barokkanerne, St.  John’s Passion and The Christmas Oratorio with Vocal North and Concerto Farinelli, Mozart Requiem with Nidaros Cathedral Boys’ Choir, New Year’s Concerts with the National Opera Orchestra and New Year’s Concerts with The Norwegian Wind Ensemble. 

In 2010 Signe will go back to Malmö Opera to sing Kikki in «I Natt! I Natt! 2», L`enfant in «L`enfant et les sortilèges» at the Norwegian Opera, «Paulus» by Mendelssohn, «Petite Messe Solenelle» by Rossini, and a new tour with the gang in «Opera on the brain».
